HTTPS / SSL Migration Complete

Over the past few months we've been trailing the provision of free SSL certificates on your website. To recap, SSL is beneficial for your business because:

  • All traffic between the browser and server is encrypted;
  • Google has begun giving search ranking boosts to sites hosted with SSL;
  • Google Chrome is going to start showing "Site Not Secure" warnings when visiting non HTTPS websites.

Starting this weekend (Saturday the 30th October), we will begin the forced migration of all accounts to always use SSL.  Requests to the non-SSL / HTTP address will automatically redirect to HTTPS.

By the end of next week (Friday the 6th September) we expect alll websites to be running only HTTPS.

What do you need to do?

During this upgrade, you do not need to do anything; however if you are using content from other websites, that is referenced via non-SSL / HTTP, there is the possibility of those assets being blocked by browsers.

If you find that there is a broken image or content on your website after the upgrade, please feel free to email us at support@synergy8.com.
