Adding a Video to your Page
To get started, log in to the website dashboard and select the Pages option, which appears under the website heading in the left sidebar.
Click the "New Page" button on the top of the page and configure a new page, or select a existing page from the list of pages.
Embed or Upload?
There are two ways of adding a video to your website: uploading or embedding.
When you have the video file on your local computer and wish to place it on a page, you can upload the video to Synergy 8 via the page attached media. Uploading a video directly to your website will use quite a lot of your bandwidth and storage allowance.
An alternative to uploading a video directly to your website is to upload your video to YouTube or Vimeo. You can then embed a YouTube or Vimeo player on your website instead, which won't use your bandwidth and storage allowance.

Uploading The Video
After opening the page editor, click the blue "Attached Media" button, located on the right-hand side of the page.
Uploaded videos are stored in this folder.
Note: when you upload a video to a page in Synergy 8, the video is stored in the attached media folder for that particular page. Videos uploaded on one page won't appear in other pages attached media folder.
From the "Attached Media" folder:
- Click the "Upload From My Computer" button.
- Navigate to the folder on your computer containing the video(s) you wish to upload.
- Select the video(s) you want to upload and click "Open". You can select multiple videos by holding Control on windows or "Command" on mac.
Placing the Video On your page
Now that you have videos in the Attached Media folder you can place them on the page.
Drag and drop the video from the Attached Media sidebar to a location within your page content area. A green icon appears on your mouse cursor to show that you are trying to place your video in a valid location.
Resizing and Positioning Videos
After placing a video on the page, you can resize and choose how it interacts with elements around it.
Click the video to change the top editor bar options. This will reveal sizing and alignment options.
Clicking a video also reveals resize handles, allowing you to drag the video to reduce or increase its size.
Right-clicking a video will reveal the "Video Properties" option, which allows you to configure the spacing around the video, and some more advanced options.
Alternately to resizing the video, going to the Video options panel and giving it a width of 100% will have it fill the width of the page.
